Teaching since 2008, I like to fuse different yoga styles. I love to use props to make yoga accessible to all ages, sizes, and abilities. I first came to yoga, seeking relief from chronic illnesses; and was drawn to teaching and sharing the benefits of integral wellness with my community.

Sekou Uhuru Newsome, B.A. Sociology
Musician for over 40 years, I create healing sounds with flute, melodica, voice, and keyboards, I layer in conga, djembe, and bongo rhythms. I have been practicing restorative yoga since 2010, assist with music selections for classes, and often volunteer for demonstrations. I am currently recording & editing our first yoga music compact disc.

Intense self-study leads to Self Mastery through mindfulness, compassion, loving-kindness, respect, equanimity, justice, and peace.

Based in Lamberts Point, we offer free and donation-based yoga sessions & workshops in under-served Norfolk communities. Each session includes breathing exercises, positive affirmations, guided meditation, rejuvenating postures, and deep stillness.
